OpenAI Deepens Enterprise Push with New Data Centre Partnerships and Expanded Integrations

Open AI Accelerates Enterprise Growth with Strategic Data Centre Partnerships and Stargate Initiative Integrations
OpenAI is intensifying its presence in the enterprise market through a series of strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening data centre infrastructure, enhancing application integrations, and broadening its technology ecosystem.
At the 2025 DevDay conference, the company unveiled a roadmap focused on transitioning from consumer-oriented AI tools to solutions designed for large-scale business adoption.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman emphasized that the company’s next growth phase is centered on enterprise expansion. You should expect a huge focus from us on really leaning into enterprise,he said.
This strategy builds upon OpenAI’s extensive ecosystem of integrations and infrastructure collaborations, signaling a decisive shift toward delivering robust, enterprise-grade AI platforms.
Broadening Integrations and Strengthening the Developer Ecosystem
OpenAI Expands ChatGPT Capabilities with New App Integrations and Developer Tools
OpenAI has unveiled a new wave of app integrations for ChatGPT, enabling seamless connections between the platform and leading global applications. Using the newly introduced Apps SDK, built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), developers can now integrate ChatGPT with a wide range of third-party tools.
The first phase of partners includes Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, Figma, Expedia, Spotify, and Zillow, with additional collaborations from DoorDash, Instacart, Uber, and AllTrails expected later this year.
During demonstrations at the event, engineers showcased how users can simply ask ChatGPT to create Spotify playlists or refine property searches on Zillow using natural language. The system intelligently detects the relevant app, requests the user’s permission to connect, and securely shares the necessary context.
Nick Turley, Head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, described the update as a step toward a more integrated digital experience. He noted that ChatGPT will soon evolve from an app that is really, really useful into something that feels a little bit more like an operating system” within the next six months.

Spotify emphasized that privacy remains central to its integration Connecting Spotify to ChatGPT is entirely opt-in — users are always in control and can connect or disconnect at any time,” the company stated.
These integrations reflect OpenAI’s growing enterprise ambitions, creating a framework where data, tools, and workflows converge within ChatGPT positioning the platform as a central hub for productivity, communication, and intelligent automation, much like how modern data centres interconnect systems and services.
Infrastructure Growth Driven by the Stargate Initiative
OpenAI Expands Data Centre Footprint in Korea Through Stargate Initiative
A major milestone in OpenAI’s global data centre strategy comes with the expansion of its Stargate initiative, as the company announces new partnerships with Samsung Electronics and SK hynix to strengthen AI infrastructure and increase data centre capacity across Korea.
The collaboration follows high-level meetings between Sam Altman, Samsung Executive Chairman Jay Y. Lee, SK Chairman Chey Tae won, and President Lee Jae-myung. Through Stargate, OpenAI aims to secure advanced memory technology and enhance large-scale data processing capabilities essential for supporting low-latency, high-throughput AI workloads.
As part of the initiative, SK Telecom and OpenAI are in discussions to build a dedicated AI data centre in Korea, while Samsung C&T, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Samsung SDS are evaluating options to expand infrastructure for large-scale AI deployments.
Samsung SDS has also signed a potential agreement with Open AI to co-develop data centres and deliver enterprise AI services, including consulting, deployment, and operational management for businesses adopting Open AI’s models. Additionally, Samsung SDS will serve as a reseller of OpenAI’s enterprise offerings in Korea, helping local organizations integrate ChatGPT Enterprise and other AI solutions.
Korea has all the ingredients to be a global leader in AI — incredible tech talent, world class infrastructure strong government support and a vibrant innovation ecosystem said Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI. Through our global Stargate initiative, we’re proud to collaborate with Samsung Electronics, SK hynix and the Ministry of Science and ICT to help advance Korea’s AI ambitions.
Advancing AI Models and Strengthening Enterprise Readiness
OpenAI Strengthens Enterprise Readiness with Advanced AI Models and Expanding Infrastructure
OpenAI’s enterprise push goes well beyond partnerships it’s now deeply tied to the performance and maturity of its AI models. CEO Sam Altman confirms that the company’s technology is ready to power large-scale business applications. We needed to let the models get better. The models are there now, he said, noting that OpenAI is already collaborating with a few active early partnerships.
Despite significant computing and research expenses, OpenAI continues to post robust financial growth. The company reported US$4.3 billion in revenue during the first half of 2025, and is on track to reach US$13 billion by year end. With more than 800 million weekly ChatGPT users, OpenAI maintains a valuation of around US$500 billion following a secondary share sale.
Profitability, Altman admits, is not the immediate focus. It’s not in my top 10 concerns, but we obviously someday have to be very profitable, he said.
As the company scales its global partnerships, data centre infrastructure has become the backbone of its enterprise vision. Through the Stargate initiative and expanded global integrations, Open AI is positioning itself at the core of the AI ecosystem seamlessly connecting software, hardware, and business applications into a unified, enterprise-ready platform designed for reliability, scalability, and innovation.
